Not much time to write but I'm feeling pulled to connect.
I'm dreaming. Today I went to Salida to confirm our reception plans and menu. The food was amazing and I can't wait to see how the whole event will come together.
Salida is beautiful with the river running and the budding trees. People were walking about seemingly without a care in the world stopping to watch the frolicking kayakers in the play park.
Every car that passed had some form of toy attached, kayak, bike, raft, backpacks and of course the happy dog heads sticking out the window or over the tailgate. Spring has sprung and I’m a giddy little school girl (without the outfit and of course without a classroom).
In June we get to go on a wonderful river trip down the Middle Fork of the Salmon River! I’m discovering that this trip maybe harder to get on than the Grand Canyon between the water levels (too high or low) and the snow covering the transport roads. So as I say this trip is a go the trip could still go sideways but either way we are insured a wonderful time with a wonderful group of people. The scenery may end up being a different river if the Salmon is too high.
This is an area of the United States that I have not explored and I am so looking forward to doing it via the river and with a great bunch of tree loving people. There are other areas we hope to travel to this summer but the schedule is not finalized yet. If you have something you wish to tempt us with please do.
For now I must concentrate on getting Lydia done with work, the wedding plans set and focusing on the trip closest at hand.
Now I’m off to dream, in color of course, about our wedding and where we will venture on our travels. There is much climbing, rafting, hiking and lounging to be had.
